Pandemic

Pandemic is a a game where the world has been plagued by 4 viruses which will soon be the end of humanity. Unless a certain group of people with particular roles can cure and eradicate the viruses. The group that I was a part of consisted 4 players, Jack Fogerson (player 1) the Contingency Planner, Angela Pham (player 2) the Dispatcher, Pratik Ghimire (player 3) the Medic, and myself (player 4) the Scientist. The game board consists of a map with major cities all around the globe, each region getting a certain virus. For this game we started in Atlanta, where we decided to place our first CDC. We each got 2 location cards and 1 action card.

Round 1

With everyone starting in Atlanta we started the game. Player 1 moved 3 spaces to Buenos Aires and removed a yellow virus cube, then drew 2 cards from the infection deck. This resulted in the epidemic level raising from 1 to 2. We then added 3 red virus cubes. Then player 1 drew 2 infection cards which resulted in infection 2 cities, Chicago and Osaka. Player 2 moved 4 spaces to Tokyo, removed 1 red cube, drew 2 cards, one where you skip infecting cities, 2nd card was a city which we added one cube too. Player 3 moved 4 spaces to Seoul and removed 1 red cube. He also used his San Francisco card to fly to the city. He then drew 2 cards from the infection pile. Tokyo and Hong Kong were both infected with a red virus cube each. Since he was the medic, he used his particular skill set to remove all the virus cubes from the city he landed on. Seoul was eradicated of all disease. Myself as player 4 moved 4 spaces to Osaka, and drew 2 city cards, Tehran and Kolkata, as well as 2 infection cards which infected Shanghai and Jakarta with 1 red virus cube each

Round 2

Player 1 took discarded event and played one quiet night so no more cities can be infected during turn, drew two cities cards Seoul and Johannesburg. Player 2 moved 3 spaces, removed one red cube from Bangkok, drew 2 red city cards, 2 infection cards for Seoul and Buenos Aires, Player 3 is a medic at Seoul so no infection is placed.Player 3 moved 2 spaces and removed all 3 red cubes from Shanghai, moved 2 more spaces to Bangkok and drew 2 city cards 1 red 1 yellow, drew 2 infection cards for black cities created 1st outbreak.Player 4 removed 1 red cube from Osaka, moved two places to Hong Kong and removed one red cube from Hong Kong. Drew two map cards, Essen and Manila city, then drew 2 infection cards, Mexico and Riyadh, placed 1 virus cube on each city.

Round 3

Player 1 moves 2 spaces , removes 2 black cubes from Delhi, draws 2 infection cards in placed cubes in red and blue city. Player 2 being the Dispatcher was able to move player 3 piece to Cairo 4 spaces away, Player 1 will airlift player 4 to Madrid. Player 2 drew two cards, 2 blue cities, drew 2 infection cards, 2 blue cities placed blue cube on each. Player 3 moves 2 spaces to Madrid, gives player 4 a blue city card, built research station in Madrid, drew 2 map cards 1 yellow 1 blue, drew 2 infection cards 1 blue 1 yellow. Player 4 cured blue disease, by discarding four of the same color city cards (blue). Played 4 moved to New York, one space, removed a blue cube, and moved one space to Washington. Drew two map city cards, both yellows Mexico City and Kinshasa. Drew infection cards, black and blue card Baghdad and Madrid. Placed a black cube in Baghdad but did not place it in Madrid because Player 3 who is a medic is there.

After Round 3 we stopped recording our plays for time purposes, so that we can try and finish the game. After playing a couple more rounds we as a team were able to cure the 3 other viruses this saving the world from pandemic.
