The game that I decided to play on the Internet Arcade was Mortal Kombat by Midway (1992). I choose this game because I used to play it all the time when I was younger, and even occasionally today if its available at some places I go to. When I started to play it took a while to get used to the controls. I played as Sub-Zero on one player, to see how far I can advance in the game’s tournament. Sadly, I must admit that I could not get very far. Luke Cage was my first opponent, and it took 2 tries to beat him. I then faced Kano which I finally beat after 5 or so tries. My last opponent I faced was Raiden but could not get passed this fight. Playing on an emulator was not the same as playing on the original hardware. Using a joystick and specific buttons when playing the original hardware was a lot simpler to handle. Using a keyboard on an emulator was confusing and had a little lag to it. Using the original hardware’s controls were easier to move fluently opposed to trying to use controls I am new to. If I was able to practice more with the emulator’s controls, I might become better but regardless I would prefer the joystick and buttons. Either way it was fun for a bit to play this game from my childhood and like the idea of this Internet Arcade.
